Interested Parties:
The Buzzards Bay Action Committee, Buzzards Bay National Estuary Program, and the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management are cosponsoring a workshop titled "How to Make Low Impact Development Happen in Your Community."
The workshop will be geared to municipal planners, conservation agents, municipal Phase II stormwater permit coordinators, planning board members, selectmen and others. Workshop may be limited to 50 persons, but preference will be given to municipal officials in the Buzzards Bay watershed if space is limited.
The workshop is being held May 24, 12:00-2:45 in the town of Marion, at the Marion Music Hall. A flyer on the workshop is attached. The BBAC is providing a complimentary lunch beginning at 12:00; presentations begin at 12:30.
Also, beginning at 11:20 AM, across the street from the workshop, an optional tour of the Marion Island Wharf Park Low Impact Development demonstration project will be given for interested participants.
You can register online for the workshop at:
http://www.buzzardsbay.org/lidreg.htm
We are asking everyone to pre-register so that the BBAC can ensure that adequate meals, refreshments, and information packets are available.
We are especially targeting municipal staff involved with regulating, designing, managing, and treating stormwater and stormwater treatment systems in their community. Please post or distribute this information to others you think may be interested.
