10th Annual CAPE COD NATURAL HISTORY CONFERENCE
Saturday, March 19 at Cape Cod Community College

Sponsored by Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary

What has been learned from five years of studying marine animal strandings
on Cape Cod? Why and how do birds molt? How has fire used to restore our
landscape? What is life like at a coyote rendezvous site?

Questions like these will be explored at the Tenth Annual Cape Cod Natural
History Conference on Saturday, March 19, 2005 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Sponsored
by the Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, the conference will
be held at the Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable, Massachusetts.

The conference will feature sixteen brief presentations by individuals from
environmental organizations, agencies, and colleges across Cape Cod and
Massachusetts. Those presenting have deep involvement in their particular
area of expertise concerning the identification, behavior, and status of
Cape Cod plants, animals or natural communities. Now in its tenth year, the
conference allows environmental organizations to learn about each other’s
research and to exchange ideas. At the same time, it is an opportunity for
the public to learn first hand about some compelling subjects relating to
Cape Cod’s ecology, natural history, and conservation. A complete list of
presentations is attached.

Participants will be able to ask questions as time permits and receive a
summary of the presentations. There will be a lunch break (bring-your-own)
as well as two shorter breaks in the day for participants to interact with
the speakers and to review poster exhibits. The cost to attend the
conference is $15. The registration deadline is March 11, 2005. To learn
more about the conference or to receive a brochure and registration form,
contact the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary at 508-349-2615. Or you can
