The Coastal Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) Grant Program provides funding to groups working on stewardship projects in designated coastal ACECs. The goal of the program is to encourage and support ACEC stewardship activities at the local, regional, and ecosystem levels. The grant provides communities with funding to implement planning, outreach, and monitoring projects, that include but are not limited to, resource management planning, assessing local bylaws and regulations, making brochures and interpretive signs, or initiating volunteer monitoring programs. These types of projects will encourage new approaches for municipal and regional planning in ACECs.
