ENVIRONMENTAL EXPERTS TO SPEAK AT CAPE COD COMMUNITY COLLEGE AUGUST 18th
CLEAN POWER NOW PRESENTS:

  "PLAN B" - CAPE COD AND CLIMATE CHANGE

Ross Gelbspan and Lester Brown to Speak at Public Forum


WEST BARNSTABLE, MA--On August 18th at 7:00 PM at the Tilden Arts Center of
Cape Cod Community College, Clean Power Now will host a speaking engagement
with Ross Gelbspan, author of The Heat is On, and Lester Brown, author of
Plan B, Rescuing a Planet Under Stress and a Civilization in Trouble.  After
the presentations, both speakers will be available for questions and
answers.
Mr. Gelbspan was a reporter and editor of major daily newspapers for 31
years, including The Boston Globe, where he conceived, directed and edited a
series of articles that won a Pulitzer Prize in 1984. Since publishing The
Heat is On in 1994, Mr. Gelbspan has traveled and spoken extensively on the
climate crisis, including appearances on "Nightline", "All Things
Considered," and "Talk of the Nation." His new book, Boiling Point, will be
published by Basic Books in August. He maintains the website
www.heatisonline.org.

The Washington Post called Lester Brown "one of the world's most influential
thinkers." Mr. Brown is a world-renowned environmentalist and is founder of
the World Watch Institute, an independent research organization focusing on
environmental and sustainability issues. He is also Founder and President of
the Earth Policy Institute, and gives lectures across the globe. Mr. Brown
has written numerous books over the past 30 years, including Building a
Sustainable Society, and The Eco-Economy. Mr. Brown will give away a free
copy of his most recent work, Plan B, to all who attend the lecture. More

Clean Power Now is an independent grass-roots environmental organization
advocating the timely development of renewable energy projects, including
wind energy on Nantucket Sound. The group was founded in the spring of 2003,
