Welcome Spring with The 300 Committee!
Aliens Among Us: The Ecology, Identification, and Natural History of
Invasive Plants
Wednesday, April 28, 2004 -- 7:00 p.m.
Invasive species out-compete native plants for moisture, light,
nutrients and space, threatening the native flora of New England. With
few or no natural predators, they thrive and spread--in the process
drastically changing the make-up of our natural communities. If left
unchecked they will dramatically change the face of New England over
the next 100 years. What can we do? Join special guest Chris Mattrick
of the New England Wildflower Society for a discussion on the
identification, natural history and methods of control for some of our
most common invasive exotic species. Lecture will be held at Falmouth's
Morse-Pond School, Jones Rd.
