The Sierra Club's Cape Cod Group will meet on Thursday night, November 13, at
the Unitarian Universalist meetinghouse in Falmouth, on Cape Cod. The public
is invited. Several issues of interest to local environmentalists are on the
agenda.

Joanna Wilson, a marine scientist, will speak. "Wildlife at Risk: The
Issues, Research, and Evidence Concerning Contaminant Effects in Marine Animals"
draws upon her recent research. Dr. Wilson completed her PhD requirements in the
MIT and WHOI Joint Program in Biological Oceanography.

The Sierra Club meeting will discuss early plans for the New Year's Day walk
in Woods Hole. This holiday event has become a local tradition. Families
walk around Eel Pond and then pause at Waterfront Park to "toast the coast" with
non-alcoholic beverages. Everyone promises to do their best, in the new year,
to help care for the Woods Hole community and the coastal and marine
environment. Afterwards, there's a "potluck party" at the WHCA hall on Water Street.
Everyone is welcomed!

The Sierra Club's Nov. 13 meeting will begin at 7:30 pm. The Unitarian
Universalist meetinghouse is located at 840 Sandwich Road in East Falmouth. For
additional information about the meeting, please contact Robert Murphy.
Telephone: (508) 563-5948.
