Press Release for November 28
Cape Cod Lake and Pond Waterfowl Survey
Nature's Circle will lead a section of the annual Falmouth Lake and Pond
Waterfowl Census on Saturday or Sunday, December 6th or 7th, weather
depending.
The group will visit eleven ponds, from Sippewissett to Crooked Pond in
Waquoit. We can expect to see Hooded Mergansers, Ring-necked Ducks,
Green-winged Teal and many others. Last year we saw and heard kinglets,
White-throated Sparrows, and Red-tailed Hawks.
We shall start at 9 am at Woodneck Beach and finish around 3 pm, so
participants should bring a lunch, binoculars, a sense of adventure, and
wear warm clothes. It is a great day outdoors and you'll see ponds you
never knew were there!
This will be the sixth year that Nature's Circle with the help of
members and friends has counted waterfowl across Falmouth early in
December. To sign up and to find out which day we will go, the 6th or
7th, call 508-540-2408.
