Hi Folks,
I apologize if you get this a couple of times but I couldn't figure out
who was cross-posted on what e-mail lists!
FYI:
I have changed my employment and expanded the range of area that I will
be covering doing aquaculture extension. I am now an Assistant Professor
at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI with a 25% teaching, 25%
research and 50% extension appointment. I have been tasked to assist in
expanding the aquaculture extension program in Rhode Island and work
with a bunch of fine people who have been doing this in RI a lot longer
than I have. At the same time, Woods Hole Sea Grant is picking up a
portion of my summer salary to ensure that I continue to work on
aquaculture extension issues in southeastern Massachusetts (and help
with some WHSG extension administration). Because clams, oysters and
fish don't really recognize state boundaries, I thought I may be able to
pull off being a "regional" aquaculture extension agent.
Therefore, I have new contact information that I would like to provide
to you:

Just to answer a few FAQs - if you are interested:
1) No, I am not moving off-Cape but merely settling into a 1h commute (I
am using it as justification for buying a new truck - every cloud has
its silver lining!),
2) Cape Cod Cooperative Extension and Woods Hole Sea Grant will continue
their partnership to provide marine extension services to southeastern
MA and they have just closed the job search for my replacement,
3) Yes, I plan to continue to work with the folks in MA on specific
projects but more on an advisory basis rather than as a grunt in the
field,
4) Yes, I will be continuing with all of my current committee
appointments, and etc.
5) Two projects that I am adopting as my 25% research effort are the
cranberry bog fish farming projects and my QPX collaborations,
6) Yes, I will continue to store stuff in my barns for all of the
aquaculture extension activities in the region,
7) No, I do not like lima beans!
So, I anticipate continuing to work with all of you folks after this
small bend in the road.
Thanks,
dale
