Workshop for Teachers Puts Fish in the Frameworks:
Teachers of grades 5 through 10 are invited to attend a workshop Thursday, November 14, from 3:30 to 5:30 at National Marine Fisheries Service Aquarium in Woods Hole. The aquarium's varied and colorful displays of fish species and habitat types will serve as teaching tools to introduce engaging activities for students. Teachers will meet the neighborhood species from our local waters, read the mind of a fish through behavior observations, and learn the stories a scale or a bone can tell. Activities will be directly linked to Massachusetts science frameworks, and Professional Development Points are available.
The workshop, organized by Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, is free of charge, thanks to support from Citizens for Protection of Waquoit Bay. Please call Pat Harcourt at (508) 457-0495 x 106 for more information or to register.
