The Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association (MMA), a science and history
based education and research institution is offering a full-time
appointment for the position of Education Coordinator.  The Education
Coordinator will be responsible for the management and development of
all educational activities for children and adults offered by MMA
throughout the year primarily covering the field of Natural Science but
also including activities in Astronomy, and the History of Nantucket.
He/she also will have the opportunity to develop and teach classes.  We
are seeking a self-motivated individual, with good organizational,
teaching, speaking and people skills, who is willing to expand MMA’s
summer offerings, and develop challenging and informative activities for
MMA members and Nantucket visitors and residents during the shoulder and
winter seasons as well.  We are especially interested in developing a
partnership with all Nantucket schools to provide each student a unique
Nantucket experience each year.

Qualifications:  Advanced degree in education, natural science
(preferably in biology), or equivalent experience and the ability to
work with and teach people of all ages.

Salary is commensurate with experience.  A health insurance plan and
low-cost housing are offered.
