[SEMCO] MMA Centennial Celebration

The Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association celebrates a Century of
Discovery in the summer of 2002. The celebrations mark the hundred-year
anniversary of the Associations founding in 1902. Celebratory events are
taking place throughout the season to highlight the Association’s goals
of scientific education, research, and preservation. For more about the

The centennial celebration officially begins June 11, 2002, and
continues throughout the summer. Events include the opening of the
Hinchman House Natural Science Museum and the Mitchell House, marine
ecology field trips, a stargazing gala, bird and nature walks, open
nights at the Loines Observatory, science library access, Discovery
classes for students of many ages, and the annual Super Series Monday
evening lecture program.
