The Coast in Motion - Friday, March 1, 2002 8:00-3:00
What is all that sand “dune” here on Cape Cod and how did it get here?
Will we all soon be waterfront property owners as the sea level rises?
We will present information and frameworks-based activities on Cape
Cod’s dynamic geology and go to the shore for first-hand observations of
wind, waves, and water at work.
Best for grades 5-12.
Climate Change: Cool Tools for a Hot Topic - Monday, March 11, 2002
4:00?6:00
What should we teach students about climate change? How do we make sense
of observed climate trends and cycles? We will look at research on and
evidence for climate change, try out some classroom and computer-based
activities, and consider the important role of individuals. Resources
for teachers will be distributed.
Best for grades 6-12.
