WHOI Sea Grant is accepting applications for the 2003 Dean John A.
Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship program. This one-year program is open
to any student who, on May 1, 2002, is in a graduate or professional
program in a marine or aquatic- related field at a U.S. accredited
institution of higher education.

Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship was established in 1979 to
provide a unique educational experience to students who have an interest
in ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy
decisions affecting those resources. The program, which is sponsored by
the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National
Sea Grant College Program, matches highly qualified graduate students
with "hosts" in the legislative branch, executive branch, or appropriate
associations/ institutions located in the Washington, D.C. area, for a
one year paid fellowship. The program is named in honor of one of Sea
Grant's founders, former NOAA Administrator, John A. Knauss.  Additional

Completed applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on
