SEMAC Mini-Grant Request for Proposals
DEADLINE: 12:00 noon, Friday, January 25, 2002
(County Commissioners’ Office, P.O. Box 427, Superior Courthouse, Route
6A, Barnstable, MA 02630)
----------------------
The SouthEastern Massachusetts Aquaculture Center (SEMAC) is a center
designed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in October 1996 to serve
as an unbiased source of information and to promote technological
development in support of the aquaculture industry in Massachusetts and
the region. SEMAC functions under the auspices of the Barnstable County
Commissioners.
Growth opportunities for the aquaculture industry within Southeastern
Massachusetts vary from community to community because of differing
local socio-political, economic and environmental conditions. To meet
the particular situations and research needs, a Mini Grant Program has
been designed to support sustainable aquaculture development, promotion,
and diversification.
The present budget for the mini-grant program is $32,000 and there is no
funding cap on proposal submitted for the program. This year, the SEMAC
Board of Directors set as a priority, funding those projects that
address research needs of diversification problems, marketing,
technology development, and alternate species.
