Smart Growth: A New Way of Building on Cape Cod

The workshop will open with a presentation by Christopher Senior, Director of the Legal Services Department of the National Association of Home Builders.  Mr. Senior will touch upon smart growth around the nation and the many pieces required to make smart growth successful.  A Cape Cod perspective will be given by Mr. John Lipman, Deputy Director and Chief Planner of the Cape Cod Commission.  Mr. Lipman will provide =C110 tools=C2 for smart growth and discuss the changes occurring on Cape Cod, including changes in the regional policy plan.  Real-life examples will allow audience members to speak with builders who are actually putting smart growth principles to work.  Shep Spear and Tim Purinton of the Massachusetts North Shore Green Neighborhoods Alliance and Douglas Storrs of Cornish Associates will present these case studies.
