COOL IT! =C4 HOW TO ENERGIZE YOUR COMMUNITY TO DECREASE CONTRIBUTIONS TO CLIMATE CHANGE
This three-hour workshop is the second in a series of workshops for coastal decision-makers on the topic of climate change. This workshop highlights outreach programs that can be done by local governments as well as how citizens can begin to engage their local officials in planning for climate change.
Date: November 2, 2001

Place: Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS Conference Center, 22 Mid-Tech Road, West Yarmouth
Target Audience: Town selectmen, town managers and department heads, members of boards and commissions, non-profit organizations, and citizen groups

A step-by-step review of the variety of techniques and programs developed by the USEPA State and Local Climate Change Partnership Program.
Programs that Work 9:45 =C4 10:15
Michael Charney of MCAN will highlight the activities of the network and what has worked to get towns and citizens involved.
BREAK /EPA EXHIBITS 10:15 =C4 10:40
Case Study in Action =C4 Princeton, MA 10:40 =C4 11:40
A case study of Princeton, Massachusetts will be presented. Dave Nichols will describe the history of renewable energy use in Princeton, including a discussion of how a citizen=C0s group pushed the town into action. John Fitch will outline the continued expansion of the renewable energy use by Princeton, the continued public outreach and support by the municipality, and plans for the future.
The Cape Cod Perspective =C4 Round Table Discussion 11:40 =C4 12:00
A roundtable discussion on Cape Cod will explore the strengths of the Cape Cod community, obstacles to overcome, and strategies to overcome these obstacles.
