Videos of the "The Science and Management of Docks and Piers" workshop
are now available for purchase or loan.

Over 125 municipal officials, consultants, state environmental agency
staff, and scientists attended the November 13, 2000, workshop that was
sponsored by Massachusetts Coastal Zone Management (MCZM). The purpose
of the workshop was to provide coastal managers with the latest
scientific data and management tools relating to the siting and
construction of small docks and piers. The booming economy has resulted
in an explosion in the purchase of boats and, subsequently, great demand
for docking space in marinas, mooring fields, and private docks. The
workshop focused on providing information that will help coastal
practitioners make informed decisions about siting, designing, and
constructing new docks and piers in our waterway.
