scheduled for this Wednesday, March 7, has been rescheduled for Monday,

WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT:

"Creating a Disaster Resistant Cape Cod"

Monday, March 26, 2001 (NOTE NEW DATE)

Sponsored by the Cape Cod Commission and Project Impact

This special workshop is designed for town planners, conservation
commissioners, emergency managers, public works officials, and elected
officials.

Learn through local case studies about hazard mitigation on Cape Cod and

developing disaster resistance through Project Impact.  You can also
learn how to be instrumental in preparing your community for the next
hurricane, coastal storm, or other disaster.

Find out about federal, state, and local programs, effective hazard
mitigation methods and funding sources that can help Cape Cod
communities reduce the effects of natural disasters such as hurricanes
and coastal flooding.

The workshop will be held at the Harwich Community Center from 8:30 a.m.

- 12:45 p.m. on March 26.  There is no charge to attend, but
pre-registration is required.  To register or for more information,
