Kristen Patchett from the Cape Cod Stranding Network
to speak about SEAL WATCHING GUIDLINES
Friday, April 13, 1 p.m.
at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
As the seal population increases on the Cape, so does our intererst in
them. Many people enjoy watching the Gray and Harbor Seals that gather
along the Outer Cape’s beaches and many organizations, including our
Sanctuary, offer boat trips to the public to view and learn about them.
Concerned with how this increased interest in seals will affect the
animals, the Cape Cod Stranding Network, with the support of other
organizations and individuals, drafted seal watching guidelines. Learn
how you can become a responsible wildlife observer while still enjoying
the thrill of seeing these fascinating marine mammals in the wild.
This program will be held at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in
South Wellfleet. The fee is $4 NM/ $3 M; $1 less for children. Call
508-349-2615 for directions or additional information.
