William & Mary’s Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) seeks a
postdoctoral investigator to work with
Dr. Courtney Harris in the Department of Physical Sciences. The
successful candidate will work within the
sediment modeling group, which uses numerical models to address
interdisciplinary issues and evaluate how
marine sediment transport processes impact the biogeochemical processes
in estuaries and shelves.
Specifically, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will perform numerical
modeling studies to explore sediment
geochemical control on ocean acidification and the carbon budget for
environments such as the northern Gulf
of Mexico. The postdoctoral investigator will join an NSF funded project
focused on sediment geochemistry
in the northern Gulf of Mexico, and will be expected to both lead
independent modeling projects and work as
part of a team comprised of numerical modelers and field scientists from
VIMS, Louisiana State University,
and University of Delaware.
