[Jpjobs] Non-academic careers

There is increasing interest among ocean science graduate students and 
postdocs as to the opportunities for ocean science MS and PhD recipients 
in non-academic careers.  Attached is my initial effort to list some of 
those opportunities primarily in the U.S.

A couple of trends that push opportunities in the opposite directions:   
1.  Tight federal funding for science affects job opportunities in many 
of the non-academic areas just as it affects opportunities in academic 
research departments.  2.  Baby boomers are retiring, and many of those 
positions are being filled by younger scientists.
