2. Science Communications Intern
* Organization: The Toledo Institute for Development and Environment

* Description: The Science Communications Intern will work under the
supervision of the Science Director to support all activities of the
Research and Monitoring Department at TIDE. This is an
interdisciplinary position offering experience in a variety of
professional fields, including research, conservation, resource
management, stakeholder engagement, outreach and advocacy. The
successful candidate will have a diverse skill set and experience in
applying research and engaging stakeholders to facilitate management
of natural resources. S/he will be responsible for raising awareness
of TIDE's research and conservation activities including creating

3. Science and Education Community Support Intern

* Description: The Science and Education Community Support internship
is designed to further professional development for current or
recently graduated students by working with Ocean Leadership's
program and senior staff. The intern will support the National
Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) staff with the development and review of
competition questions, creation of surveys, entry and analysis of
evaluation data, updates to program website, and completion of tasks
related to the planning and implementation of the National Finals
competition. The intern will also support fundraising efforts to
include research and proposal development. He/she will provide
support to the CEO and senior staff in meeting with and convening
various groups in the ocean science community, including Ocean
Leadership's annual Industry Forum.

14. NOPP Fellowship
* Organization: National Oceanographic Partnership Program (NOPP)

* Description: The NOPP is hiring two fellows to begin in January of
2017 (exact dates TBD). The NOPP Fellow Program is a paid six-month
position designed to give soon-to-be or recent MA or MS graduates
the opportunity to gain experience in Federal ocean science and
policy communication challenges and coordinate activities that play
a role in marine and coastal policy development, research efforts,
partnership development, and STEM outreach. This position offers
exposure to individuals in the Federal system who organize, develop,
and lead the Nation's ocean policy and research directives, while
providing an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in governmental
activities relating to ocean science, technology, and education.
Fellows will regularly engage with representatives from Federal
agencies including the Navy, ONR, NOAA, BOEM, USGS, DOE, DOI, NSF,
EPA, USACE, and their partners, to support project development
efforts, as well as attend meetings with the Subcommittee on Ocean
Science and Technology. The Fellow will also contribute to the
knowledge-base for responsible decision-making and gain exposure to
a broad range of marine research efforts such as improved
forecasting technologies, climate change issues, autonomous aerial
and underwater vehicles, technology development and integration,
biodiversity monitoring, sea ice modeling, acoustics, Arctic
systems, coastal processes, offshore environmental monitoring, and
many other topics that enhance our knowledge and stewardship of the
Nation's oceans and coasts, and their resources.
