1. Associate, Pew Fellows Program in Marine Conservation, Environmental 
Science Division

  * Organization:  The Pew Charitable Trusts
  * Location: Washington, DC
  * Description: The PMF associate assists with program management for
    various activities of the Program, including the expansion the
    Program to include fellowships in targeted Asian countries. This
    work includes coordinating the fellowship application and selection
    process, working with Fellows on their project grants and reporting,
    researching program information, and contributing to specialized
    outreach. The associate also contributes to the program development
    and logistics of the Program's annual meeting. A minimum of two
    years of professional experience, with a preference for experience
    with international environmental and marine conservation non-profit
    organizations or foundations. Experience working in programs or
    knowledge of environmental issues in Japan, China or Indonesia
    preferred. Proficiency in Japanese, Chinese, or Bahasa Indonesia an
    advantage. Strong organizational skills, including attention to
    detail and ability to organize multiple projects. Excellent written
    and oral communications skills, including ability to summarize
    technical materials. Ability to proofread and fact-check materials
    and ensure accuracy of information and content. Facility with
    computer software, including ability to work with large databases
    and document preparation programs, such as Filemaker, Salesforce,
    Cvent, AdobePro, and Publisher.

2. Science and Conservation Internship

  * Description: The intern's primary responsibilities will be to
    research and develop science and conservation projects to support
    sanctuaries and sanctuary resources, build and strengthen
    partnerships with organizations and institutions that can assist
    with conservation work and outreach, manage existing conservation
    products, spend plans, and accounts, create and promote
    communications materials and products, and increase the number of
    DOJ cases and community service payments to NMSF. Now accepting

3. Program Officer in Information Science

  * Organization: Gulf Research Program of the National Academies of
    Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine
  * Location: Washington, DC
  * Description: The Gulf Research Program funds research and other
    activities that generate and disseminate knowledge. Many funded
    activities produce information products. Data, which include the
    recorded factual material commonly accepted in the scientific
    community as necessary to validate research findings, are one of the
    most common form of information products. Data curation is the
    active and on-going management of data through its lifecycle of
    interest and usefulness to scholarship, science, and education;
    curation activities enable data discovery and retrieval, maintain
    quality, add value, and provide for re-use over time. The incumbent
    will advise the Executive Director and Senior Staff on the
    development and implementation of the Program's policies on data
    management (including data curation and stewardship) and activities
    on data mining or harvesting and manipulation. The position is
    inherently interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral. The incumbent also
    will assist in review of applications for the Program's grants and
    fellowships.

5. Reviewer for the Fishery Improvement Project Tracking Website

  * Description: FishChoice seeks to hire a staff person to fill the job
    of the FIP Reviewer. The person in this position will play a
    significant role in shaping the application of global best practices
    in FIP reporting and implementation. On a day-to-day basis, the
    reviewer's job is to ensure that FIPs on the website are accurate
    and provide full documentation and evidence of their status and
    progress, as per the Alliance Fishery Improvement Project Guidelines
    and the Marine Stewardship Council standard. A major part of the
    reviewer's role will be work one-on-one with FIP Implementers in
    order to improve the quality and consistency of progress reporting.
