Two Tenure Track Faculty Positions

November 9, 2015

The Graduate School of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island is 
inviting applications for two tenure track faculty members:

1). Assistant Professor specializing in the chemistry or biogeochemistry 
of seafloor vent and/or seep systems (posting: SF00162); and

2). Assistant Professor specializing in autonomous systems and data 
processing for ocean observation (posting: SF00165).

Located on the water's edge at URI’s Narragansett Bay Campus, GSO 
<http://www.gso.uri.edu/> is the state's center for marine studies, 
research and outreach. The new hires will have the unique opportunity to 
participate in the active sea-going community of GSO and the Ocean 
Exploration Trust <http://www.oceanexplorationtrust.org/> utilizing 
platforms such as the R/V Endeavor <https://techserv.gso.uri.edu/> and 
E/V Nautilus <http://www.nautiluslive.org/ev-nautilus>. They will be 
expected to develop strong externally funded research programs, advise 
graduate students, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. For
