Dear Colleagues,
The Department of Ocean Engineering at the University of Rhode Island is
inviting applications for a tenure track assistant professor
specializing in autonomy and marine robotic systems. The first deadline
for receipt of applications is February 12th. See the position listing
below for details on how to apply, or go to
https://jobs.uri.edu/postings/1045.
This is an exciting time to join the Department of Ocean Engineering at
URI, which marks its 50th anniversary next year. We have recently hired
three new assistant professors, and we are currently searching for two
more. We now have eight tenure track faculty and three research
faculty. Our student enrollment is up to 140 undergraduates and 40
graduate students, and the voters of Rhode Island approved a $125
million bond issue this year to build a new complex for the College of
Engineering.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would forward this announcement on
to recent, or soon to be, PhD graduates and post-docs. Please direct
any questions regarding the position or the hiring process to me at
slicht at egr.uri.edu <mailto:slicht at egr.uri.edu>. This position is paired
with a similar faculty position in autonomous systems currently open in
the Graduate School of Oceanography (GSO). The GSO position can be
found here: https://jobs.uri.edu/postings/1032.
Best Regards,
