<div>This is an exciting time to join the Department of Ocean
Engineering at URI, which marks its 50th anniversary next
year. We have recently hired three new assistant professors,
and we are currently searching for two more. We now have
eight tenure track faculty and three research faculty. Our
student enrollment is up to 140 undergraduates and 40
graduate students, and the voters of Rhode Island approved a
$125 million bond issue this year to build a new complex for
the College of Engineering.<br>

The Department of Ocean Engineering at the University of
Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for a tenure-track
faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The
department seeks to add an outstanding faculty member
working in the area of autonomy and marine robotics. The
appointment is to expected to start by September, 2016. The
successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate
courses within the College of Engineering; advise graduate
students; develop a strong externally funded research
program; and publish refereed journal articles.</div>
