looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated=20
marine science instructor to work with their=20
study abroad program aboard the school ship S/Y=20
Ocean Star or S/Y Argo in Fall 2015. Descriptions=20

The successful candidate will play an active role=20
in the day-to-day operation of our program and=20
lead the instruction for either the Introductory=20
Marine Biology or Introductory Oceanography=20
course. He/she is expected foster an exciting=20
experiential learning environment for the=20
students on board, with appropriate field=20
sampling and experiments. The instructor should=20
be creative and flexible in his/her approach to=20
teaching and incorporate program activities and=20
experiences into the course structure.
The successful candidate will be adaptable and=20
willing to work in the ever-changing=20
conditions=ADwith sometimes difficult weather=20
conditions=ADthat are characteristic of life at=20
sea. He/she should be enthusiastic about=20
traveling to various locales and working with=20
different cultures and languages.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:
=B7 Master=92s degree in marine biology, oceanography or related=
field.
=B7 Ability to teach a university-level=20
introductory course in marine biology or oceanography
PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:
=B7 PhD in marine biology, oceanography or related field.
=B7 Prior experience teaching, preferably in field sciences.
=B7 Scientific diving experience and=20
Divemaster or Dive Instructor certification.
=B7 Boating experience, especially on large vessels or sailing=
vessels
Compensation is dependent on experience. Room=20
and board, travel expenses and health insurance=20
are provided. We are looking for somebody who=20
can commit for the fall 2015 semester, from early=20
September to mid-December. There is also the=20
possibility of extending employment beyond that=20
