1. Economist, National Marine Sanctuaries Foundation

The individual will work for the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation to
support NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuary (ONMS) Socioeconomic
Program.
General Work Portfolio
Capacity Building – Build ONMS Socioeconomic capacity through building
public/private partnerships, finding sources of funding for research,
and mentoring students;
Communications - work with ONMS web team to keep ONMS web site up to
date with latest socioeconomic information and work with the ONMS
Communications Branch on social media;
Agency Representation – Support and participate in NOAA or interagency
work groups or serve as an advisor to members of such work groups on
behalf of the ONMS
Public Engagement - Represent ONMS by responding to inquiries from the
general public or other agencies or organizations, and to attend
professional meetings to present research done at ONMS sites.

2. Collaborative Post-Doc Opportunity, National Socio-Environmental
Synthesis Center (SESYNC)
Annapolis, MD
“Modeling community benefits of environmental restoration for coastal
communities”
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Research and
Development, Mid-Continent Ecology Division (Duluth, MN) is seeking a
Collaborative Post-Doctoral Research Associate with expertise in social
or economic valuation to join Dr. Joel Hoffman in an ongoing research
project to model community benefits from sediment remediation and
ecological restoration projects (www.epa.gov/med/tasks/task2-1-4-4.htm).
The project is part of EPA’s national research program on Sustainable
and Healthy Communities
(www2.epa.gov/aboutepa/about-sustainable-and-healthy-communities-research-program).

16. Resource Education Intern, Everglades National Park
Homestead, FL
GYF in conjunction with Everglades National Park is seeking a Resource
Education Intern for the Royal Palm area at Everglades National Park
(ENP) in Florida.
Internship will be a four months full-time equivalent position and will
run from approximately May 18, 2014 to September 6, 2014, with the
possibility of extension through the Fall.
The intern will work with the Everglades National Park Division of
Interpretation and Education, under the supervision of Supervisory Park
Ranger.
