      ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF COASTAL GEOGRAPHY AT UCLA
Recruitment Period: September 10, 2013 through November 15, 2013

The Department of Geography at the University of California, Los Angeles
invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant
Professor level in Coastal Geography. We invite applicants working on 
present
or future biophysical, social, and/or economic issues pertaining to the 
coastal
zone. Applicants with a strong background
in quantitative and/or geospatial approaches are encouraged to apply. We 
seek a
scholar with demonstrated researchexpertise in one or more of the following
areas:
1) Physical, biological and/or biogeochemical processes in the coastal zone
2) Coastal zone environmental, social and economic sustainability
3) Impacts of sea level rise/storm surge on coastal zone environments and
communities
4) Impacts of exogenous inputs on coastal waters
5) Impact and management of coastal ecosystems and fisheries

The appointment will begin July 1, 2014. A Ph.D. in Geography or a closely
related field is required by the time of
appointment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education, 
experience,
and qualifications.
