Assistant Director of the MAT in Biology/MA in Zoology Programs & Instructor

Miami University's Department of Zoology invites applications for an 
Assistant Director to work with faculty, staff, students, and external 
partners to manage groundbreaking graduate programs in the environmental 
and life sciences. The Global Field Program brings together formal 
educators, scientists, and community leaders at vital conservation sites 
in Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. The Advanced Inquiry 
Program focuses on local community engagement in major U.S. cities. Both 
programs are supported by a consortium of premier zoos, aquariums, and 
science museums. The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and Master of 
Arts  (MA) programs are overseen by Project Dragonfly in the Department 
of Zoology. Project Dragonfly is an education reform initiative that 
reaches millions of people worldwide each year through learning media, 
public exhibits, university courses, and graduate degree programs.

We seek an Assistant Director who can oversee the daily operations of 
expanding national and global graduate programs while working with some 
of the top conservationists and educators in the world. The successful 
candidate will demonstrate a capacity to lead effective community-based 
conservation and education programs through collaboration with a range 
of partners, including field researchers, teachers, non-profit 
professionals, and indigenous communities. Responsibilities include 
direction and development of program faculty, field course instruction, 
implementation of new learning technologies, curriculum development, 
research, program assessment, and academic advising. Require: PhD in 
relevant area. Desire: Experience in inquiry-driven professional and 
curriculum development for formal or informal educators. Submit cover
