> I'm a co-leader of the Committee for Diversity & Inclusion's Academic Recruitment group, and we're looking to recruit post doc members who are interested in working on this topic. I immediately thought of you, as I'd heard that the PDA was involved with writing the post doc letter on the topics of diversity & inclusion that went to the Board/admin. Ideally we're looking for post docs who might be here for another 1-2 years, so that they'd have time to sink their teeth into improving diversity, equity, and inclusion during WHOI's recruiting process. This committee intends to focus on recruitment at all levels, and will likely meet about once a month (depending on need). We're in the process of forming this committee, so our plan of action for addressing long-term goals is still evolving. Currently, we've talked about sending representatives to national and local meetings to run recruitment events, creating a monthly digest highlighting graduate and post doc work, etc. The other co-leaders for this committee are Paris Smalls (JP, G&G) and Julie Huber (Faculty, MC&G).
