As a professional commuter: If you don't go off Cape frequently and
haven't been tracking local Cape media outlets, you may not be aware of the
dire situation at the Bourne Bridge, with one lane each direction 24/7
starting Monday of this week and allegedly up to Memorial Day in late May.
The traffic jams yesterday and this morning are epic (worse than during the
painting a few years ago) on every bridge approach-- Rte 25 and on Main St,
Scenic Highway, and Cranberry Highway in Bourne. Going off-Cape, the rotary
is a parking lot as you enter from Rte 28 (like a summer Saturday) much of
the day. We should probably advise any WHCMSC visitors coming in from
off-Cape for the next 7 weeks to use alternate routes. If you need to get
off to reach an airport or appointment, you can try waze.com (choose
minimize time, not distance--also available as an excellent phone app) or
type "traffic near me" into your browser to ensure you don't miss your
flight.
