[All-postdocs] WCC message on diversity at WHOI

Dear all,

I serve on the Workplace Climate Committee and I wanted to make you aware
of a diversity report that was commissioned by all of the institutions in
the Woods Hole area.
 It is available here <https://web.whoi.edu/wcc/internal/diversity-report/>.
I encourage everyone to read it all the way through, and discuss it with
your colleagues and peers. Note that the document is only viewable online
and internally, so please limit the dissemination of this document to your
peers, colleagues, and friends who are here at the institution.

Of particular interest to me are the ideas of psychological safety and
cultural competence.  The report includes some pretty difficult things to
read about, and I think gives us all an opportunity to think about how we
can individually, and as a community, improve the racial and gender climate
at WHOI and wherever we end up working in the future.  Furthermore, if
anyone wants to talk about the report, or these issues more generally at
WHOI, don't hesitate to reach out to me personally or to the Workplace
Climate Committee (wcc-chairs at whoi.edu).
