Hi folks,

For the next postdoc coffee hour we will be exploring the WHOI Seafloor 
Samples Laboratory housed in McLean. Jim Broda*, Research Specialist in 
G&G, has kindly agreed to give us a tour of the labs, as well as some 
"show and tell" on some interesting samples.

The plan is to meet in the lobby of McLane** at 10 am on April 22nd, 
where Jim will walk us through to the Lab and show us around the 
collections. The laboratory is "a library that doesn't house any books; 
just tons and tons of mud and rocks" collected via research ships from 
all over the worlds oceans; funded by NSF and open to the research 
community at large. If you're ever thinking of doing some work with 
marine sediments, or just want to find out why geologists like playing 
with dirt, this is /the/ place to be next Tuesday morning!
