Welcome to the eighth consecutive year of SoundHAB listserv operation.

This year the listserv moderator will be Teri King of Washington Sea Grant.

Please contact Teri at <mailto:guatemal at u.washington.edu>
guatemal at u.washington.edu for assistance if

you cannot solve list serve problems using the SoundHAB WHOI web site link.

The purpose of this listserv is to provide harmful algal bloom researchers,

science and industry managers and others a forum to share timely information

about HABs throughout the Pacific Northwest and especially the Salish Sea.
There are

currently ~ 125 members subscribing.

If you see major or novel blooms, please post a note on this list serve as

soon as possible and report the approximate location and time, even if you

don't know what species are involved so that others may follow up..

Your email address is stored only on the well-guarded and secure Woods Hole

Oceanographic Institution listserv system. The system is extremely robust

in preventing hacking, spam and other internet attacks. When you hit
"reply"
on your browser to a posting it will be sent to the poster, not the list,
unless you

click on the <http://mailman.whoi.edu/mailman/listinfo/soundhab> SoundHAB
at whoi.edu link.

The operation of this list is sponsored in part by the NOAA Center for

Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research CSCOR Harmful Algal Bloom Event Response

Program and a grant to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution with the capable

assistance of Judy Kleindinst and Eric Cunningham.

 <http://mailman.whoi.edu/mailman/listinfo/soundhab>
http://mailman.whoi.edu/mailman/listinfo/soundhab to access all historical

archived postings, subscribe or unsubscribe. Listserv operation, management

and contributions are entirely voluntary and the only guideline we have

agreed to in the past is that we prefer to involve only researchers, agency
and water

dependent businesses, managers and students, but specifically not include
public

news media.

If you have comments or suggestions to alter this list serve, please post

them or contact Teri.

Thank you for your active participation over the past seven years,
especially the core

group of participants who have contributed the most.

I have enjoyed working with all of you and hope that there will be expanded
participation

in the future in sharing timely information related to HAB events in Puget
Sound and adjacent waters.

Best regards,

Jack
