Please find the latest observations on surface conditions in Puget Sound from July 6th, 2011.

Go to the directory ftp://www.ecy.wa.gov/eap/Flight_Blog/latest_pictures/ and save the most recent file (EOPS_2011_07_06.pdf) to your computer.

The goal of the documentation is to provide timely and spatially nested information on the occurrence of visible surface features in Puget Sound.

Ecology’s marine monitoring unit conducts the observations on a monthly basis. We use our routine transit flight between Kenmore Airbase and Olympia to document current marine water conditions by camera and supplement the information with satellite images and en route ferry data between Seattle, WA and Victoria B.C.

Observations include:
•	Personal impressions from the field.
•	Arial photography of surface features (blooms, plumes, debris, sheens) between Seattle and Olympia.
•	En route collected data from the Victoria clipper running daily between Seattle and Victoria.
•	Satellite images of the Salish Sea.
•	Mooring data in Possession Sound/ Mukilteo/ Squaxin Passage.

We hope the images are inspiring and informative.

We are always looking for constructive feedback to improve our products.

With best regards,

Christopher and the Marine Monitoring Unit
