I have just had a report from a farm site in Jervis Inlet that they are
having a Heterosigma bloom. Yesterday (June 13) concentrations got up
to 3600 cells/mL at the surface. They have not reported any mortality
of farmed or wild fish.
This is north of the Fraser River plume, so it is unlikely that you will
see the effects of it south of the border. I have not had any report
from Vancouver since the June 4 sample, but here in Nanaimo we were
still seeing a thick mixed diatom bloom last week (Chaetoceros species
dominant).
