Please find the latest observations on current surface conditions in
Puget Sound from December 6 and 7, 2010. Ecology's marine monitoring
unit conducts the observations on a monthly basis.

get_Sound.pdf

(All photos documenting the flight are in the same folder)

The goal of the documentation is to provide timely and spatially nested
information on the patchiness and occurrence of visible surface features
in Puget Sound.

We use our routine commute flight between Kenmore Airbase and Olympia to
document current marine water conditions by camera and supplement the
information with satellite images and en route ferry data between
Seattle WA and Victoria BC.

Observations include:

* River plumes, eddies and fronts

* Algae blooms and mass aggregations of organisms

* Floating debris (wood, macro-algae, plastic etc)

*         Oil spills.

We hope the images are inspiring and informative.

We are always looking for constructive feedback to improve our products.

With best regards,

Christopher
