I took samples 8/31/09 as part of my weekly sampling of a bloom in North
Bay, Case Inlet, Washington as part of the Sound Toxin program. The bloom is fairly extensive and streaky. The bloom is Heterosigma and extends from the town of Allyn down the north shore to Victor.

Attached are photos of the bloom in a bucket from an unconcentrated dip sample. The bloom cuts visibility in the bay at about 6 inches. The photo of streaking is courtesy of Brian Bill from NOAA that received the sample.

I have a report from a shellfish grower in the area of two dead flat fish -
approximately 12 inches in diameter and 16-18 inches long dead and gasping
on the sand the same day. No other reports of fish struggling have been
observed or reported. The bloom persisted today.
