"ON AVIAN EXTINCTION" - A PANEL DISCUSSION

            Join us at the Sandwich Center for Active Living, 70 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, Sandwich on Thursday, June 13 from 6pm-8:30pm for a panel discussion on "Avian Extinction," featuring three noted conservation authorities and moderator/author Christi Palmer Lowrance. The panel consists of Wayne R. Petersen, Director of the Massachusetts Important Bird Areas Program at Mass Audubon; Christopher Neill, an ecologist and Senor Scientist at the Woodwell Climate Research Center in Falmouth; and Luanne Johnson, a conservation biologist and founder of Biodiversity Works on Martha' Vineyard.

            This event is the third in a series on Thornton Burgess Nature Books for children, part of a year-long celebration of Burgess' 150th birthday. Admission is free, but reservations are recommended by going online at thorntonburgess.org.  Refreshments will be served. 508-888-6870
