>> Barnstable County's MASSTC is the nation’s premier third-party testing and research center for innovative/alternative (I/A) onsite septic treatment technologies and includes water reuse demonstration gardens and other projects. The walking tour, led by MASSTC’s Bryan Horsely, will last about 1 hour, addressing design, performance, maintenance, and other attributes of the more than 20 I/A technologies being demonstrated and tested. Attendees should be prepared for walking outdoors, with no shade or protection from the elements. Bathroom facilities are available on site.

>> The Green Center is a living laboratory and demonstration project for sustainable living as practiced at the former site of the New Alchemy Institute. Hilda Maingay and Earle Barnhart will introduce urine diversion UD) technology - including products available for installation in your home - and lead the tour of their home's UD system and discussion of ongoing pilot testing and plans for larger-scale demonstration across the Cape. This tour can only accommodate 14 participants - so please sign up early, and only if you definitely will attend.
