Sierra Cape Cod’s virtual speaker series continues Tuesday, August 20 at 7 pm with Briana Kane of the Cape Light Compact introducing statewide and local priorities and programs to be addressed by the Commonwealth’s next 3-year energy efficiency investment plan. This Zoom event is open to all; time will be reserved for audience Q&A.

Award-winning "MassSave” efficiency programs, administered by electric and gas utilities as well as Cape Light Compact, are critical to achieving the state’s 2030 and 2050 climate goals. These programs, funded primarily by electricity and gas consumers, are rapidly evolving and expanding to accelerate decarbonization of buildings and other energy end uses while ensuring that all customers can take advantage of energy-saving opportunities.

In this 3rd Tuesday Talk, Briana will highlight statewide priorities for the next 3 years—including whole-home decarbonization and equity for low- and moderate-income customers—and the key elements in the Compact’s 2025-27 efficiency plan, with total proposed funding of about $225 million. Energy savings and emission reduction goals, new and improved MassSave offerings, and ratepayer cost impacts also will be summarized.
