USGS Woods Hole job posting -

Description:

The USGS Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center is seeking to
contract a programmer, computer scientist, statistician, geographer, or
related practitioner to support the operationalization of coastal landscape
response models. The primary focus will be on a model that synthesizes
geospatial data and analyzes them in a Bayesian statistical framework. The
successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists
that developed and use the model (originally developed in MATLAB and
recently migrated to Python), which supports decision making needs for
sea-level rise and coastal landscape change at varying times scales and
under different climate scenarios. Recent model and source data updates
and expansion of the geographic footprint provides an opportunity to
streamline the underlying code and migrate it to an open-source framework,
increase processing capacity, and explore new ways to serve the data (e.g.
dashboards, etc.). Are you interested in being part of a dynamic team that
creates user-centered products designed to support climate resilience and
adaptation planning for our nation’s coast? Please submit your application
