Topics covered will include natural underwater sound, extreme sounds (natural and anthropogenic), the potential impacts of underwater sound associated with vessels (Saturn Project), and how animals (marine mammals, fishes, and even humans) may use ambient sound.



Each webinar will run approximately 60 minutes in length and will consist of a presentation by one or more experts followed by a period of facilitated discussion. The webinar series is open to all interested individuals; however, registration is required. The first webinar in the 2023 series will take place on April 25, 2023, at 12pm ET; Dr. Jen Miksis-Olds will provide an overview of natural underwater sound on a global scale. This webinar, and others in the 2023 series, will be hosted via Zoom, and also streamed live on YouTube. Participants can ask questions through either platform. All webinars will be recorded, and the webinar recordings will be available on the DOSITS website (and on Vimeo).
