seeks 5 enthusiastic summer staff members for our 2022 Girls Science +
Nature Camp season. *


Camp sessions will run from July 11 - August 20. Our goal with these camps
is to build the confidence of middle-school girls in the sciences by
providing them with role models of women in STEM in an effort to help end
gender imbalance in the sciences. We are hosting 6 week-long, residential
camp sessions on the remote island of Penikese, located 15 miles off Cape
Cod. Throughout the week, campers will explore the island, engage with
guest scientists and artists for STEAM activities, play games, and have fun.


These are full-time, temporary positions [July 5, 2022 - August 20, 2022]

*CAMP COORDINATOR x1*

The Camp Coordinator manages and oversees all camp programming on the
island. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Camp Coordinator will assist
visiting guest scientists and artists with their activities. The Camp
Coordinator will guide Counselors in running additional science, art, and
recreational activities on Wednesdays and Fridays. The Camp Coordinator
will also oversee "classroom management" during all camp activities and
will serve as a mentor and role model for campers and Counselors. Successful
applicants are fun, creative, and energetic, with a proven interest in
youth education & STEAM programming. Ideal applicants have experience as a
teacher for middle-school aged youth, with a background in science being a
plus. Lifeguard certification and Wilderness First Aid certification are
highly desirable.


*ISLAND STEWARD x1*

The Island Steward oversees the daily operations of island life and serves
as support for camp - preparing all meals and snacks, overseeing the
facilities and systems, and managing the housekeeping tasks and chores.
Successful applicants are fun, creative, and energetic, with a proven
interest in youth education & outdoor educational programming. We seek an
Island Steward who is fun, creative, and energetic, with a passion for the
outdoors and for remote, “off-the-grid” living. Our ideal candidate has
experience with camping, sailing, or other outdoor programs of a
residential and rustic nature. Previous experience preparing meals for a
group is highly desirable. Lifeguard certification and Wilderness First Aid
certification are highly desirable.


*CAMP COUNSELORS x3*

Camp Counselors serve as role models for campers. On Tuesdays and
Thursdays, the Camp Counselors will assist visiting guest scientists and
artists with their activities. Counselors will run additional science, art,
and recreational activities on Wednesdays and Fridays. Successful
applicants are fun, creative, and energetic, with a proven interest in
youth education,  STEAM programming, and a strong desire to help empower
middle-school girls in the sciences. Ideal applicants are working towards
completing a degree in the sciences (biology, chemistry, engineering,
physics, math) or in education. Lifeguard certification and Wilderness
First Aid certification are highly desirable.
