The Buzzards Bay National Estuary Program (NEP) is looking for input as it
evaluates how climate change impacts our collective ability to protect and
restore water quality and living resources in our area. The 2013 Buzzards
Bay Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) defines goals and
approaches to protect and restore water quality and living resources in
Buzzards Bay and its surrounding watershed. It will be updated in 2023, and
as part of the CCMP update, the NEP must undertake a Climate Change
Vulnerability Assessment to determine how climate drivers might affect our
collective ability to meet the CCMP goals and objectives.
You can provide input in four different ways:
1. Complete a questionnaire on your broad concerns related to climate
change and how affected each of the Buzzards Bay CCMP Action Plans will be
by climate change: https://tinyurl.com/2wytyb8w
2. Participate in a workshop where we discuss how climate drivers might
affect our collective ability to meet the goals and objectives in the
Buzzards Bay CCMP:
a. Regional and Municipal Government Workshop – Thursday, March 3,
2022 from 10:00am – 11:30am
b. Non-Profits and the Public Workshop – Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from
4:30pm – 6:00pm
To register for either of these workshops, please click this link:

3. Rate the climate stressors for one or more Action Plans from the
Buzzards Bay CCMP that reflect your interests or expertise. To view and
rate the climate stressors identified in the draft Climate Change
Vulnerability Assessment and submit additional climate stressors or
research needed, follow the links at the bottom of this page:
https://buzzardsbay.org/management-solutions/2022-climate-vulnerability-assessment/
4. Review the draft Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment document
and send a comment letter on one or more CCMP Action Plans that reflect
your interests or expertise. Draft document available here:

Thank you in advance for your feedback!
