CAPE COD CRANBERRY DAY AT GREEN BRIAR

During the holiday weekend on Saturday, October 9, the Green Briar Nature
Center & Jam Kitchen in East Sandwich invites all to its Annual Cape Cod
Cranberry Day.  From 10am to 2pm Green Briar celebrates this native berry so
prominent in the history of Cape Cod with cooking demonstrations in its
historic Jam Kitchen using traditional cranberry recipes.  Enjoy a cranberry
crumble dessert and cranberry bake sale. For a $10 fee, join a tour of the
neighboring cranberry bog at 10am, 11:30am or 1pm.  Register online for bog
tours.  View the gallery exhibit covering the life and works of the prolific
children's author and naturalist, Thornton W. Burgess and check out the used
book sale to benefit Green Briar's library.  Bring home some of the Jam
Kitchen's jams offered in Green Briar's Mercantile as well as Burgess books
featuring Peter Rabbit and friends plus a wide variety of unique and
nature-related items for home and gifts. All proceeds benefit the non-profit
educational organization. Take a peek at the new Green Meadow Forest Exhibit
featuring Peter Rabbit and many of his animal friends, a special place for
