Understanding Coastal Resiliency in a Regime of Sea Level Rise, Increasing Storminess and Human Alteration of the Shoreline
with Dr. Mark Borrelli

BREWSTER, MA — The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History presents Understanding Coastal Resiliency in a Regime of Sea Level Rise, Increasing Storminess, and Human Alteration of the Shoreline with Dr. Mark Borrelli, Director of the Seafloor Mapping Program at The Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 1pm.

This presentation and the following discussion will provide the latest information on sea level rise, storms, and human alterations of the coast all within the context of defining and understanding coastal resiliency. Our speaker has been studying coastal processes on Cape Cod since 2002 and will share his experience and insights on the past, present and future of Cape Cod coastal environments.

Dr. Mark Borrelli is a Coastal Geologist. He has been the Director of the Seafloor Mapping Program at the Center since 2009. In 2018 he became the founding Director of the Coastal Processes and Ecosystems Laboratory, or CaPE Lab, a joint research effort between the Center for Coastal Studies and the School for the Environment within the University of Massachusetts at Boston. His research interests include understanding how storms, sea level rise, and human alterations affect the coast.
