The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has released a report that will shape offshore wind development for decades to come, starting with Vineyard Wind, the nation's first utility-scale offshore wind project. BOEM is holding five virtual public meetings from June 26 - July 9. Learn more about the virtual public meetings and submitting written comments: www.vineyardwind.com/seis Comments close: July 27, 2020.
Many may recall summer 2019 when the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management paused offshore wind permitting to conduct a cumulative impact analysis of the industry. Almost a year later, the report has been released and public comment period opened for the Vineyard Wind 1 project specifically and BOEM's cumulative impact analysis of building 22,000 megawatts of offshore wind energy from North Carolina to Maine over the next 10 years. Learn more about the federal review of Vineyard Wind at BOEM's virtual meeting room where you can download factsheets and watch pre-recorded video presentations, or download full documents: www.boem.gov/vineyard-wind
