SUMMER 2020 TEACHER-IN-RESIDENCE APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Are you a K-12 Cape & Islands STEM educator interested in bringing STEM education to life in your classroom?
Our Teacher-in-Residence program connects K-12 educators with local STEM-rich institutions each summer to immerse in the organization's activities and create robust standards-aligned curriculum units which we publish on our website (https://capecodstemnetwork.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9e42964f129d483d76c0c4bbc&id=0965f707bc&e=79dee973df) .

Each externship provides a $1,000 stipend to the educator and the opportunity to connect with leading regional STEM institutions by creating a curriculum one or more units they can use with their students. This summer we are pleased to offer two externships that will take place virtually, and will focus on teaching STEM in the remote learning environment. The first externship will be with Woods Hole Sea Grant, and the second will be with MBL: Marine Biological Laboratory. The externships will be open until filled.

In this free webinar hosted by SmarterServices, you will discover how stakeholders, including faculty, students and corporate partners, are using specific tools to better prepare for learning remotely. You will hear from:
* A faculty member about the instructional design approaches and applications she is using to create and deliver instruction.
* A current student about the tools and techniques they are using to stay motivated, organized and engaged in learning.
* Representatives from SmarterServices and Quality Matters about the validated tools and services they provide to measure learner readiness, foster faculty readiness, prompt academic integrity, and promote quality instructional design.



Weekly Virtual STEM Meet-ups
at The STEM Education Center at WPI

Join us for a LIVE, interactive, virtual STEM Meet-up where we will share online tools and STEM activity resources. Educators are invited to bring an activity or online tool to share with others, or just attend to get some new ideas. We are all in this together. Let’s share our successes and support each other during this unprecedented educational endeavor.
